Has significant experience in using qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts, private foundations, and other sophisticated planning techniques
Serves as professional trustee for a number of clients
Represents clients in IRS estate tax audits, including the successful contest of a proposed estate tax assessment in excess of $1 million
Represents clients in IRS gift tax audits, including the successful contest of a proposed gift tax assessment in excess of $400,000
Represents clients in income and excise audits, including the successful settlement of a Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board case that resulted in the client’s meals tax assessment being reduced by over $100,000
Assists many clients in connection with the reduction or elimination of tax penalties
Represents clients in connection with the formation and operation of non-profit entities
